This ad series is meant to spread awareness of all the different types of animals that need rescuing. So many of them are abused or neglected, and sadly there are many that don’t receive care. Sean Casey Animal Rescue, or SCAR, is looking to change that. They state, “We are one of very few rescues who take in the most difficult medical cases. We do it because no one else will.” Despite what these animals have been through, they leave the care of SCAR with a second chance at life. They are, as shown in these ads, unbroken.
I used a technique that I learned from Rich Levy, a healthcare advertiser, in this ad series. He said, for an ad to be successful, the tagline and visual need to work together to tell the whole story. If one or the other are sufficient on their own then it isn’t working. The trick, cover the tagline, then switch and cover the visual. If the elements don’t work on their own but make sense together, it means your ad is cohesive and complete.
These designs showcase my skill with fine art, as the animals were hand-drawn in pencil. I love to incorporate hand-drawn elements in my work; they make it personal and give me limitless control over my designs.
