This is a Highlights Card I created for the Sephardic Denomination of Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun. It features upcoming events, a schedule for prayer services, and dates for Kiddushim (a Hebrew term for a communal gathering with light snacks and refreshments, typically following Sabbath Morning Services.)
By using an image of the doors to the Chapel on the front and an image of its interior on the back, I ensured that the Highlights Card was inviting and familiar to the congregants. Additionally, due to its size (5” x 7”), it’s convenient to carry around or place on a fridge for easy access.
My main challenge was to fit text-heavy content into a small space. Using small caps created uniformity throughout and helped avoid overcrowding. I then used slightly transparent white boxes to help break up the space while creating an interesting design element that makes the piece unique.
